Terry Valentine
Jerry Hauschultz (foreground) was the medic of the 1st Platoon, D
Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry. He medically treated his
platoon-mates with dedication and professionalism, and was a devoted
friend to us all. He was killed in action by enemy machine gun fire
while fighting fiercely alongside his comrades upon falling victim to an
enemy ambush. His friends at Quan Loi Base Camp were able to spend time
with him in prayer prior to the departure of his remains to the United
States. He will be long remembered.
