I was with the 1st Cav B co.2/5 1965-1966. I have been trying to find John Guthridge and Mike * * *,since I left Nam. No luck.Please let me know if anybody knows of them. Thanks

Log Bird Black Bandit "501"

A'Co. 229th Avn Bn, TayNinh

I was the A/C commander of "501" from Sept 69 until Jun 70. Crew Chief Richard Dike, Door Gunner Rodriquez
CW2 James L. Wilson then WO1 A/C. My call sign was Black Bandit 27.
Today is April 15, 2013. April 15, 1970 I flew Flare bird and medivac on FB Atkinson all night when it was over run. Looking for history on the Unit which was at FB Atkinson when this happened.

WO1 Bill Weaver was shot down and landed on the wire during the battle , WO1 John Pohlman was killed. John was the co-pilot.

There are some really moving stories here, I have served my country in the British Army and have been treated well after my service. It has taken a long time for Vietnam Vets to be recognised and appreciated. Good Luck to you all God Bless
